On September 20, ILAS delegation, led by Prof. Wang Rongjun, Deputy Director of the Institute, went to Xuzhou, Jiangsu, to participate the 3rd Seminar on “China and LAC: Dialogue between Civilizations”, jointly hosted by Foreign Affairs Office of Jiangsu Provincial People’s Government, Institute of Latin America under Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and Blossom Press of China International Publishing Group. At the opening ceremony of the seminar on the 21st, Professor Wang Rongjun and leaders from other related units went on the stage and inaugurated the brand.

On September 20, Prof. Wang Rongjun, on behalf of the Institute of Latin American Studies, CASS and Prof. Zhou Ruguang, President of Jiangsu Normal University, signed the agreement on "Co-construction of Institute for China-LAC People-to-people Exchange". Both sides considered that people-to-people exchanges and cultural communication were very important part of China-Latin America relations. For a long time, the exchanges had been relatively weak in practice and research. In the future, they would take advantage of their own resources, strengthen coordination, and work together to promote China-Latin America cultural exchange and research and improve the research level and social influence, and contribute to the sustainable development of the relations China-Latin America.
