On December 9, 2021, the seminar on "film and social change in Latin America" jointly organized by the social and Cultural Research Office of the Latin American Institute of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and the discipline of Latin American culture was held in Beijing. More than 10 experts from film academia, Latin American academia and Latin American cultural exchange participated in the seminar in the form of online and offline combination to discuss the relationship between Latin American film and Latin American society. There were heated exchanges and discussions on film and television cultural exchanges between China and Latin America and how to tell Chinese stories with images. The seminar is based on the cooperation intention between China and Latin America after the outbreak of the new crown pneumonia.It focuses on the development history, image style and narrative characteristics of Latin American films. It takes Latin American films as a mirror of Latin American social and cultural changes. It focuses on the new paradigm of Latin American film research and the new blueprint for the development of Chinese films and television in Latin America. At the seminar, the participants also reached an action consensus to explore collective efforts to promote the research of Latin American films, disseminate Latin American knowledge to the public through films, and promote Sino Latin American image exchange and cooperation in 2022.
